: a significant development today at the u.s. state department. peter crowley resigning after controversial comments he made about the pentagon treatment in the wikileaks case. james you covered this story. was eight long time in coming? >> reporter: it was in the sense it was well known that p.j. crowley, well-liked as he may have been did not enjoy the confidence of secretary of state clinton. his comments in the past few days about private first class manning in which crowley suggested that the treatment of him has been stupid and counterproductive, comments he made before a very small group of people at harvard university in which a blogger was present. those comments were just one in a number of similar kinds of incidents. there was an episode back in the egyptian revolution when he was responding to the first set of moves by hosni mubarak in which he appointed a vice president and prime minister. he tweeted the next morning that mubarak can't unleash the deck and it was not appreciated by the white house. this is the kind of thing that cost p.j. his job. >> jamie: he obviously dealt a
. bill bill hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. the medias continue. that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. the head of the npr schiller out of there. just one day after embarrassing undercover tapes of two npr fundraisers were released ms. schiller announced her resignation. that's again because npr employees are seen shouting left wing verbiage. it is on the verge of losing all federal funding because of this kind of stuff. last night on the factor we showed you the tapes where the two npr fundraisers were seen to be sympathetic to the palestinian cause. and they don't like republicans very much either. so why should republicans pay their salaries or at least a portion of them? no longer can funding for public broadcasting be justified in this country. then there is a continuing muslim controversy. as you may know, congressman peter king will begin holding hearings tomorrow. the house homeland security committee will look at the impact the jihad is having in america. many on the left are appalled calling com king joseph mccarthy

us tonight. the confusion continues over the nuke danger in japan and that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. japanese authorities continue to test the air and the folks for radiation contamination. but, forget, forget about getting a clear picture as to that danger. we do know some radiation has leaked into the atmosphere. but officials are playing down the danger. even as they tell people living near the damaged nuclear reactors to stay inside. but, again, there is no certainty here. however, that has not stopped the bloviating. >> the events unfolding in japan incidents actually appear to be more serious than three mile island to. what extent we don't really know now and so as they are unfolding very rapidly on an hour-by-hour and day-by-day basis and there are conflicting reports. so we don't really know in detail what's happening. >> i think what's happening in japan raises questions about the costs and the risks associated with nuclear power but we have to answer those. we get 20% of our energy right now in the united states from nuclear power. so,

now. ♪ ♪ >> bill: hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. governor walker wins in wisconsin. that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. last night the wisconsin state senate voted to limit the bargaining power of the public unions in that state. they did this using a procedure that allowed the vote, despite the absence of democratic senators who fled the state to avoid the union vote. almost immediately some of those senators said the vote last night was undemocratic. is that hypocrisy? you make the call. anyway, the wisconsin public unions are now diminished and there is mayhem in madison. [shouting] [chanting.
